Siemens Launches Cerberus Pro VOICE

Earlier this month I attended Siemens annual Partners Summit meeting in Florida. It was an extraordinary event that I felt privileged to be invited to. When you consider that Siemens has approximately 70 Value Added Partners in Canada, and that they only invited 4 we were in some very exclusive company! The Partners Summit included 6 different countries as well, so we were introduced to a number of different cultures and had a chance to discuss success and challenges with about 600 other fire alarm professionals. To say we came away with and incredible amount of information, sales and service strategies, and the chance to partner on projects, or share resources with other great companies in the future is the understatement of the year.

The Partners Summit also included a number of new product launches that will be described in future blogs. However Today I want to share with you one of the most exciting launches we saw. Cerberus PRO Intelligent Voice Communication, Cerberus Pro was launched last year as a new panel for the small to medium sized market. As Siemens said in the Summit, “our baby now has a voice”, and can she ever talk! I’ll give you a few highlights;

  • Digital voice technology – the industries intelligibility – Communicate clear messages
  • Customized messages reach specific areas at the same time
  • Fire and Voice networking over the same copper or fibre connection for simpler installation, and high quality audio distribution
  • Meets requirements as both fire alarm system, and emergency communication system
  • A single enclosure for combined fire and voice reduces installation time
  • Amplifiers in the same enclosure require less wall space
  • A common conductor for networking all data & audio saves time and money
  • One shared battery set for fire/voice systems uses backup power more efficiently

These are just a few of the great things we can now provide with this awesome panel. As I said earlier this just one of the many new products that were launched at the Summit. There are several new devices now available, as well as new functionality, and increased features and versatility for the XLS fire alarm panel to name a few. There are some other goodies that I will share in the not too distant future however if you need to know about them now you can contact Phil Pickering in our office and Phil will gladly discuss all of these products.

This type of Partner Summit is exactly what our company needs to remain on the cutting edge of fire protection. The tag line of the Partners Summit was “Building Together” with the support we have always enjoyed from Siemens, and their dedication to producing new products that create a safer world we truly are Building Together!

There is protection within the herd!

The Season For Success

Download Attachment...

It must be the season, but it seems lately we have been appearing in a number of places. We were announced as a finalist in The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit Award. Keep your fingers crossed we will find out if we won February 28th at their Spirit of Winnipeg Awards Gala. Then we appeared in BDC’s Profit$ Magazine for their “Management Tip” on page 4. BDC is such a supporter of business in Canada, and being asked by them to offer advice to other business owners is truly an honor. Most recently we have appeared in Canadian Business Executive magazine in the article titled “A Growing Player in Manitoba Fire Protection”

Each division whether it’s Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, or Suppression are all preforming exceptionally well, in both sales & service, and the response from the business community has been noticed. Our people take pride in being the best the industry has to offer, and we support them with additional training and mentoring when required to keep them at the top of the fire protection business.

The kind of recognition we have been getting from such a variety of places is incredible, and certainly tells us our plans are working, and more importantly our staff is doing their jobs extremely well, and as a business owner I truly appreciate the great job they do in every aspect of our business.

There is protection within the herd!

Welcome Phil Pickering

We are very excited to welcome Phil Pickering as Sales Manager to the Bison family! Phil’s career in the fire protection industry began almost 20 years ago as a fire alarm technician, and he has consistently upgraded his skills during that time. He has spent a lot of time in sales, as well as in sales management, and as such is exactly the person we needed to ensure our customers are receiving the care they require to conform to the various codes, and standards that each business faces every day.

The fire protection industry is very small considering the importance of the work we do. You have to remember if our fire protection equipment operates as designed fires go out before the fire department arrives. This is vital when you think of the reduced damages to equipment and property, the lower potential for injury and death of the occupants, as well as the reduction of both expense and most important risk to our fire fighters.

Having a person with Phil’s experience is truly an asset because in a small industry like ours experienced competent professionals are very rare.

There is protection within the herd!

Welcome Back Darryl Litman!

Darryl Litman has been in the fire protection industry for over 16 years. While his career didn’t start at Bison he has spent the bulk of them with us. Last year he was offered an opportunity to enhance his skills and knowledge when a position as a service manager was offered elsewhere. We admired his initiative in wanting to grow in the industry, but were sorry to see him leave us.

Recently we had a new opportunity come available here and we let Darryl know that he would be a good fit for that position. After careful consideration he chose to rejoin the herd!

We are very pleased to have him back with us, and I know he would welcome any calls from the many people he has dealt with during his career.

There is protection within the herd!
